Harold John Albers

	Harold John Albers, 85, of rural Tamaroa, passed away at 9:11 a.m. Monday, February 21, 2000 at Pinckneyville Community Hospital.
	Mr. Albers had been a truck driver for Owens Transfer for a few years in the early forties.  From that time on, he engaged in his favorite thing which was farming.  
	He was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ and was on the council many times.  He was also a member of Couples Class, Mens Fellowship Group and The Sweethearts- a group of friends who met at each others homes to party, eat, play games and just really had good clean fun.  They did this for 25 years until bad health took over for some of them.
	Harold was always full of fun much to everyones delight.  He also wrote humorous poetry, most of which Maxine has compiled into a scrapbook entitled Harolds Homespun Humorous Poetry.
	Harold is a man to be remembered.
	He was born January 21, 1915 at Pinckneyville, the son of Fred Fritz and Mabel (Mitzelfeld) Albers.  He married Maxine L. Brock in June 1940 at St. Louis and she survives.
	In addition to his wife Maxine L. Albers of Tamaroa, he is survived by a son, Fred W. Albers of Tamaroa; three nieces, Mrs. Mable Woodside, Mrs. Eunice Schrader and Mrs. Georgia Schrader and their husbands; a sister, Frances Pugh of DuQuoin; four grandchildren, Amy Cashion, Amanda Albers, Chris Albers and Tiffiney Albers and four great-grandchildren.  Special people remain, namely, Marvin Keith, the James Williams Family, Lois Hirsch, Mildred Hirsch and many others.
	He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
	Funeral services were Thursday, February 24 at 11 a.m. at Maxton Funeral Chapel in DuQuoin with Dr. Charles Hoekstra officiating.  Interment was in Mueller Hill Cemetery in Pinckneyville.
	Friends were able to call after 6 p.m. Wednesday at Maxton Funeral Chapel in DuQuoin.
	Memorials may be made to St. Johns U.C.C. Building Fund.
